Small spring and ball fitment (not 3 large springs)

When rebuilding the grinder on my Jura E8, a small spring and ball ‘appeared’ on my worktable. I have been unable to find any reference to them except one video that says put the spring down the center shaft hole which doesn’t work. I would really appreciate a response.

I just received an answer to my question. The small spring is used to index or cause to click, the black toothed gear so that you can count the number of ‘clicks’ when setting up the grinder.
