The LCD screen went black

The LCD screen went black, although the camera still turns on and makes photos (i’ve checked the memory card), but since the screen doesn't turn on, none of the menu/info/set functions are available…

Did you manage to fix this problem? I have the same error, the screen is just black but the camera takes pictures. Sometimes the screen will actually turn on though so I worry the screen is not the problem but that the camera for some reason turns off the screen most of the time. If I turn the camera on and off for 20 or 30 times the screen eventually comes alive, but will turn off eventually. I hear a soft tick-sound as the screen goes blank, adding to my suspicion that something is telling the screen to turn off.

No? even bought new LCD screen, didn't eliminate the problem. Went to several repair shops, and one honorable specialist told, that everybody can try a lot of things, but the truth is you should get a new camera and the issue is not fixable within reasonable expense limits... So i bought a new camera...

@rasma in a darkened room and with your camera on shine a flashlight beam at an angle against the screen see if you can make out your menu etc. This could be a backlight error. If that does not show anything it is possible that your LCD screen has failed. Check this video to see how to replace the LCD.
