Device crashing in safe mode?

So I have a Samsung Galaxy A5, its had many glitchy issues with connecting to internet for a few months. First it would be that if i tried to turn on internet, it would just say theres nothing nearby. Later on it would give a message telling me “System UI” crashed and would go black, then send me back to the lock screen. Also, before the battery hits 20%, it would drain the battery for up to 5% per minute then just die. I had searched online and did many things i found online. Clearing default app settings or something would stop the “System UI” message to stop appearing and issues continued. I also tried to find the issues in safe mode then and couldnt seem to find anything.

Months later im still having these problems and so i turned back on safe mode. As i type this, my phone is stuck on safe mode and restarting every 5 minutes. When i press down on “power” it still gives me the option to go ontosafe mode (yes it says its enabled at the bottom left corner.) I dont want to factory restart my phone because i have no way to upload my photos to anywhere especially with this crashing issue and as ive seen on similar situations it says it doesnt work. If anyone could give mea hand oranyother ideas please let me know. Thank you so much!

Sounds to me like either a software issue or an issue with the Motherboard. Unsure of what country you’re in, but if you are in the USA or Canada, and there is a uBreakiFix store near you, you can always go in and see if they can reflash the samsung factory software. There are 2 options, a full factory reset, or a reflash of the update software. The update may or may not fix your issue, and if it fails there is a small chance it would require a factory reset after, but the update function itself does not erase user data. So if all else fails and you’ve been unable to recover the data any other way, this may be a way to -possibly- fix the device. But, as I said, there are some dangers, although unlikely to occur.

Another thing you can try, let it keep rebooting and draining the battery and then when it doesn’t have power to turn on, let it sit for a couple of weeks. This’ll be the closest thing you can get to actually unplugging the battery to do a full power cycle, though it does take some time. Basically you would be giving the board enough time to allow the electricity it’s built up to dissipate, clearing the board of electricity. Again, unlikely to work, though that’s my best guess.

I’m not sure if it’s been resolved, but for others who might also have the same problem— in my galaxy a5 it was a battery issue. When I replaced it with a new battery all was solved.
