Cracked screen, the display is flickering, can't use my Note 8
A month ago, overseas, I dropped my phone, a small rock cracked the edge of my Galaxy Note 8. I didn’t turn it off since then as I am afraid I won’t be able to start it again.
The display is flickering and not working properly. I am able to figure out to unlock my phone using my passcode on the screen but can’t do more.
I was able to plug it in my PC, access and save all pictures, audio recordings, but can’t locate my contacts and saved texts. Anyone know if they are there?
#1, I need to retrieve all my contacts that weren’t save on my Sim card and Google
#2, I’d love to recover a few contacts’ texts
#3, is it repairable, either myself or any recommended services I would pay?
I got an online estimate of $260 to replace the screen, which sounds expensive, unless if it solves everything and my phone is working again as before, with all my contacts and texts … any recommendations on how to proceed and my options?
Thanks a lot - Patrick

Mayers suggestion is spot on however if u dont want to spend money fixing the phone u could try using something like dex and plug a keyboard mouse and monitor into the phone and see if u can make a backup that way...
P.s changing the screen shouldnt delete anything

@c9679 Thks a lot for your reply. I'll try to connect it again to my PC and see if I can locate the file for my contacts. I tried once and couldn't find it

I dont think u can really navigate to the contacts db using just file explorer, u would need something like backup software to make a backup of the contacts... eg samsung smart switch
