Touch not being recognized by iPhone

Not sure what happened but i had this phone for almost a year. I got it with a non responsive middle portion of the screen but the rest of the screen responded too touch. When it didn't respond in the past. I banged the back of the iphone and it worked. Now that doesn't seem too work anymore. I also took off the back of the phone by removing the latch from the board and reconnecting it. This doesn't seem too work anymore. I also left it overnight in a bag of rice but that didn't do anything /:

Idk what to do anymore and i dont have the money or a replacement plan to afford a new one. I'd appreciate if anyone could help me. Also I used too touch the iphone with greasy hands and sometimes when my hands were wet. Water droplets got on the screen but idk if that affected it.

It does sound like you will most certainly require a new digitizer. I believe that when is was not responding in the, it was already starting to break down. By now the digitizer has probably disintegrated. I would not worry to much about the rice thing....;-) only for a meal. Good Luck

by all means buy a new digitizer , buy a new digitizer glass with the mid board and home button then swap the the lcd quick you'll thank yourself for the 13 bucks you spent on ebay. don't buy one off someone off craigslist most of them are sneaky like a shady car mechanic they'll swap parts on you
