Hi,

What is the full model number of the laptop?

When you say "...open boot settings." do you mean the BIOS menus and if so what do you change or enable in there to make it work?

Have you checked the status of the WLAN adapter in Device Manager when it is not working?

What OS is installed in the laptop?

door

Yes it is BIOS menu

It shows WiFi drivers in hidden drivers

Windows 10

Hi,

So what do you do in BIOS?

Do you have to enable the WLAN every time or what?

What is the status of the WLAN adapter in Device Manager even if it is hidden?

Right click on the WLAN entry and select Properties and look in the General Tab > Status

What is the model number of the laptop??

door

I do nothing in BIOS just click at change BIOS setup

Exit without doing anything

Model is HP 15-CC129TX pavillion notebook

In device manager it shows device not connected

Hi

Go back into BIOS and check if there is a setting (usually under the Advanced tab) regarding enabling/disabling WLAN or perhaps "inputs" If it is there ensure that it is enabled and then SAVE the changes before exiting BIOS

Hi @ Harshul Gupta,

If the WLAN is being shown as enabled in the BIOS and its’ status in Device Manager is being shown as not connected then perhaps you have a loose or faulty WLAN module.

Here’s a link that shows how to perform hardware tests in HP computers. Click on Running Component tests > Complete List of Component tests > scroll down to Wireless Module test to view how to test the module

If the WLAN module test indicates that it is faulty here’s a link to the service manual for your laptop, taken from this webpage

Scroll to p.42 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the WLAN module. Follow the steps to check that the module’s connection to the motherboard is OK and if it is you may have to replace the module

Also on p.42 you’ll find the part numbers for the module.

If you search online using the appropriate part number only in the search box of your browser, you’ll get results for suppliers of the part

One way to get WiFi on all PC is to just get a usb plugin that connects to WiFi it is just something that will connect to things and connect to your computer via usb
