Power socket not accepting cable.
The power cable on my laptop has suddenly stopped pushing into the socket properly. It seems to push the fitting in the socket back so it will not enter the plug properly. I have checked a different charger but that is the same. I think it will possibly need a new socket. Are there any guides how to change it, I am having difficulty finding one.

Sounds like the plug itself has broken away from the board. This can happen if it was dropped or front stresses of having the cord yanked or pulled on. Replacing it would likely require some extensive solder work and depending on the damage to the motherboard itself, may not even be possible.
