Boot loop caused by broken proximity thing?

Hello

I recently replaced my iPhone 6 screen.

During replacement, I broke my proximity meter thing.

The phone powered up fine, everything was working except for the proximity thing (when I made calls and held the phone up to my face, the screen didn’t turn off like it usually did).

The battery eventually died, and when I tried turning the phone back on, it got stuck in a boot loop. The apple logo seemed to flicker in brightness and sometimes I would get a red screen flash.

Other posts on here suggest disconnecting the cable and then trying to boot the phone up.

I did that, but the phone is still stuck in a boot loop with a red screen flashing sometimes. I also tried disconnecting everything but the home button and the screen itself. Still no luck.

Will installing a new proximity meter flex thing fix my phone?

Replace the proximity sensor cable. Then do a full restore via iTunes. It’s a hardware issue that caused a software glitch. Also try using the lcd shield from your old screen if you’re not already as aftermarket ones cause problems.
