CD player isnt working

A few questions to narrow this down...
1) Does the CD load?
2) If it loads does is stay in "reading" mode?
If no to #1, then the load belt needs to be changed. It is slipping and can not load the CD properly.
If #2, then the lens is likely dirty or has failed. In either case, the unit must be removed from the vehicle in order to resolve the problem.
