Is using cardboard to repair headphones ok?

So not long ago my mom had the brilliant idea to buy wh 1000mx2 in a duty free in an european airport and lose the receipt. Because of taht the warranty was out of the question when we saw that they wouldn’t turn on so I decided to try to repair them my self and I did. I found out that there was a space between the battery and the connectors so I decided to put a piece of cardboard under the battery so the connection could be made. I am wondering if this is a viable solution, I am worried that I may cause some damages to the headphones if I leave cardboard there...

How about a make and model number so we can see what you're referencing? I hope you thanked your mother for being so thoughtful. I hate being given tee shirts from places I didn't get to go to. Return the favor after you get them fixed by loaning them back to your mom on her next flight. That may have been what brought brought them to mind when she didn't have a pair.

Oh, BTW, usually when I come back from a trip abroad, I'm out of cash and have to use a credit card for purchases, and your proof of purchase should be on the cards statement.

Some cards, like AMEX will give you a free warranty just for using their card.

you definitely have a cool mom! The cardboard under the battery will be fine. Interesting so that it does not fit. Is there a possibility that the contacts are bend up?
