Unresponsive iPhone 6S touchscreen

I recently replaced my broken screen. Everything went well until I plugged it back to the phone. There is one ribbon I attempted to plug back in and it seemed it wasn’t fitting. After several attempts I started to see smoke. I realized I left the battery plugged in, and I also realized I plugged in the incorrect ribbon into it. So now I have all the correct ribbons connected. I turned it on, and the touchscreen isn’t working.

Do I need to replace the whole logic motherboard because of this mistake?

If so, do you have advice on where to get it?

Gekozen oplossing

If only the touch function is not working, then you probably blew the Touch power rails. This can affect some of the small passive components next to the connector or in some cases, blow components more upstream in the circuit. Usually, forgetting to disconnect the battery causes the backlight circuit to blow.

Either way, this is fixable but does require a micro-soldering repair and is not a DIY repeair unless you have all the proper tools and experience working on tiny components (01005)
