Where/How do we start opening this speaker?

Having the device not turn on now (similar to this), and having the device refunded already, I can tinker with this speaker any way I want it. One goal: to possibly find out the problem, and fix it.

The thing is, there is no obvious hole or secret thing to be screwed out or peeled off to get it opened, unless it requires peeling off the whole rubber skin of its bottom/feet..

I found this site which looks at its disassembled parts, but it's just that: already disassembled parts. The holes there suggests maybe screws, but...this speaker seems closed shut.

I tried opening it with the iFixit Pro tools I have, but to no avail.

...Maybe I have to pry harder? I might be fighting my way through adhesives here.

The front speaker grille pries off with a metal spudger (am I spelling that right?). The Torx heads are where the six posts slide into the front plate / speaker mount. They are style only and don’t unscrew.

Remove the ten screws; six across the top, four across the bottom. Two arrows show where to insert your spudger to pry the speaker plate out. Boom! You’re in!

On mine, the back of the micro USB input had come out and the jack’s tab to hold it weakened. I unplugged and removed the speakers, battery pack, & back port assembly. The assembly has two screws and needed some force with the spudger to loosen the adhesive holding it in. But it came apart with no damage.

I put all back in place and applied a blob of hot glue to the back of the micro USB jack to hold it together.

It all went back together just as easy and works fine now.

Cheers

Worth trying. Why do micro-usb plugs fail so easily?

Hi motokam, I really like this illustration but it's quite difficult getting around the terms such as metal spudger, torx heads etc. If you please, I'd really appreciate a visual representation of the disassembling of the Anker soundcore pro speaker.

There are only eight screws inside mine. The back feels like it's still attached at the top. Any advice?

The newer Soundcore Pro+ perhaps? But from the images around, Pro+ looks no different.

Your speaker, at least from this image, looks to be a different speaker than the Soundcore Pro in question.

Hi Leydar, Take off speaker grill, remove 8 screws. Turn over to back, gently remove back cover( tab in middle top, I had to lossen entire back before tabs would let loose). You now have access to insides. Good luck…
