I am getting 2 codes E3 and F5 on my kenmire 600 series washer. What do they mean?

I'm having the same problem but my lid opens. I paused it opened the lid closed it and tried to start it again and it started beeping E3 F5.

i have the same problem, same error messages; called parts department and confirmed door lock senor out (probably broke when someone tried to forcefully open when locked). anyway, part runs $155 plus tax & shipping through them (sears), then you have the cost for someone to replace it....what a hassell, nothing is like it used to be anymore!

@back2me3 the F5 E3 alert indicates there is an issue with the lid lock. Do not force the lid open, as permanent damage could occur. Remove any objects from the lid and clear any obstructions. Touch POWER to exit cycle, then touch POWER again to release lid. If this is unsuccessful, reboot the machine by unplugging the washer and wait two minutes before plugging the machine back in. Also, check this video from here

Remember that your Kenmore is actually made by Whirlpool. We might find more information if you can give us your washers serial number.

It means that you lid look mechanism is malfunctioning try unplugging it for 2 minutes then close the lid before you press the start button

My front load Whirlpool washer sucks. I've had the error codes E3 and F5 happen often over past 18 months. Buy a different brand.

My front load Whirlpool washer sucks. I've had the error codes E3 and F5 happen often over past 18 months. Buy a different brand. Unplugging never changed anything. Last two times i had to take the top off, remove locking mechanism and locking switch. Took hours.
