MacBook Pro keyboard dead?

Hi,

My MacBook pro 17" have some keyboard problems...

One row on the keyboard was broken. I ordered a new keyboard from eBay. I seated it in and two diagonal rows was broken. Then I cleaned the keyboard connector with some alcohol. And now the keyboard is broken and all the keys. The connector is pulled whole way in. Some of the blue plastic on the cable are gone.

My model is a Late 2011

So whats the problem? Will I need a new keyboard?

At this point I think you'll just want to get the uppercase assembly. Replacing the keyboard alone is a bit tricky if you haven't done it before and getting the correct one for your system from eBay can be tough.

The Late 2011 modes are highly sought after so its worth fixing even if you don't plan to keep it.

Here's the needed part: MacBook Pro 17" Unibody (Early 2011) Upper Case from IFIXIT and here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow to put it in: MacBook Pro 17" Unibody Upper Case Replacement

Thanks for super fast answer. But what I wonder if the connector to the keyboard is broken? Or is the whole keyboard broken?

Do you think you damaged the logic board connector?

No I do not think so. I connected my old keyboard in and it worked.

Then its time to just replace the uppercase.
