Why wont it charge?

If your UE Boom 2 won’t charge or loses battery life quickly, see the UE Boom 2 Won’t Charge or Loses Battery Quickly problem page for possible causes and solutions.

You likely need a new battery.

Try a different charger as the one you are using may not be powerful enough to charge the battery. That is, if you are using something other than the charger you got with the speaker (5.1V 2.0A).

Do you know where I can get this fixed? I saw a video on replacing it, but the battery is very hard to get to and super complicated. There's no warranty, and they told me I'd have to pay to replace it. $300 down the drain? There's gotta be a better way!

Whats the charger you're using is it a 5.1V 2.0A unit? You might want to try a new USB cable as well.

The current price here in the states for a new unit is about $90 US. I hope you didn't pay $300 US for it.

It was about $250 when I bought it :(. It's amazing to me how expensive this stuff is, and how CHEAP they make their products. Something that expensive I would expect to have for a very long time. I guess the culture of quality has changed.

Anyway....are there companies out there that will replace the battery if replacing the charging cord doesn't work? (I really think it's the battery)

I just bought a UE Boom and it worked fine for a week then when I tried to recharge it the white charging light would not come on and I kept getting the red light and the battery is critical message. I tried resetting the UE Boom pressing the ON and the Down Volume button and held these buttons down until I got the extra drum sound. I turned the power button back on and got a white flashing light. I then took the USB adapter off and plugged the power cord into the UE Boom and the USB end directly into my laptop and hey presto, it worked.

Yes...the problem is that I don't know how to replace the battery, and UE will not repair it. They only replace the speaker, but only if it's under warrantee. I'd like to find a local place to fix it, but I don't even know where to start...

Try to visit other repair shop maybe they can fix it..
