System suddenly lost audio
I’ve had the system for over two months. I dropped the system once, and shortly after there was no volume to be heard. Nintendo couldn’t repair it either.

The first thing to try is a reset. its the least expensive, or invasive repair. Follow the guide for factory resetting your DS. If nintendo tried repairing it, this would have been the first thing they do.
a couple problems can cause the issue.
on opening the back, try testing if a straight current into the speakers make it hum quietly. no more than 5V DC should be enough to get a noise.
if not, its likely an audioIC failure. (Damage to the circuit on the board.) the cost of repairing this is senseless, and it would be better to buy a new one.

Hey but what if the speaker wires broke loose from the ribbon? Or is this a different design than on the 3DS?
When you say 5 V DC you mean connecting it to some sort of cable? Sorry no idea what that is. But it’s probably the circuit
1) @alexniculescu the speakers are connected to a flex ribbon. if it broke off of the flex ribbon, you can solder it back down, as long as bot h pieces are intact. the flex ribbon is a small flat ribbon that houses wires.
2) @johnnyxd when i say 5V DC, it means 5 Volts of Direct current. This test requires a power supply to do. powersupplies can be purchased or made.
