@redboyryanyt you do want to take it out of the rice. Rice does not do anything. It does not prevent corrosion, it will not repair your camera. The rice is wasting your time that you could spend trying to fix your camera. do not turn your camera on or try to do anything with it. Remove the batteries. weird crackling noise could be caused by the water on your circuitry cooking and shorting out components leaving your camera dead for good.

For now, remove the battery. Then disassemble your camera. Even so there are no specific guides for it, the PowerShot series all disassemble pretty much the same way. Take lots of pictures and separate your parts. These guides should at least get you into the camera. Once you have the camera disassembled, clean everything with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Remove the EMI shields of the circuit boards since the water will accumulate under that. Clean all connector and cable ends. Check the boards for obviously damaged or missing components. Only after it is all cleaned and dried do you want to reassemble it and replace the battery. Do not reuse your batteries. With all that done, try to troubleshoot your camera for further damage if necessary. Just like any other device, water damage is the hardest to repair and to trouble shoot since virtually any part may have failed.

Ok, so one thing i did notice was a chip by the left side of the main Board *with the USB port facing down* that there was a bit of something. The Isopropyl got rid of it. So could that be corrosion or something like dust?

Could have been. Should have taken a picture:-) so we could have checked. Remember to clean absolutely everything on your camera.
