Screen bent too far back, odd color lines in LCD

I've had this laptop sitting around for a while and finally have some time to work on it. The screen previously did not work at all but after resting for ~10 months the screen semi-functions. There are odd ghosting lines (red typically) and the damage was done by the screen being bent too far back.

I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with similar damage and not had to replace the entire screen assembly or repaired it without purchasing any parts?

Thanks!

Sorry guy no magic wands here :-{

Sounds like you'll need to replace the display assembly. But before you do double check things by connecting your system to an external monitor to see if the display is OK there. If not, you have other problems.

Here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011 Display Replacement

Thanks! I was reluctantly hopeful.. I'll dig into this repair. I have the Essentials Toolkit, is there anything else I might need for the repair that maybe isn't listed on the guide?
