I have taken out the dash of a 2000 Malibu Ls.
I have all the bolts out of The metal bar that is behind the dashboard.
I'm able to drop that bar to the floor. Yet all the wireing i have not yet discounted and needing knowledge on.
Once that is completely out of the way, what do I do then?
Is dit een goede vraag?

@leecope , Lee, See link's below for instructions on heater core replacement for your car, it is a fairly big/difficult job when doing for the first time. Good luck.

I can not figure out how to remove the wireing from the fuse box,which is unableing me to move the metal bar completely out of the way. Or is that necessary?
Lee, I do not believe the tie bar or fuse box wiring have to be removed. Sorry you are having such a difficult time. The first link I had posted has pretty good step by step directions. God luck.

I really REALLY appreciate the information that has been sent to me. I've about gotten this project behind me!!
Although I am curious are there any gaskets or seals for the HVAC connector behind the firewall?
And again thank you so much for your help!!!

@leecope , Lee, there should be rubber O-rings on the tubes or inside the connector, either or to seal the connection. see link below shows the seals in the connectors openings on the evaporator. Glad to hear you just about have it wrapped up.

Hey LPfaff. Heater core is all fixed Was doing great until lastnight.
Car runs fine in idle. Though when driving, (keeping a normal hold on the throttle )it begins to act as if you are letting off and on of the gas. Jerking back and forth.
I've replaced the O2's and the TPS
Still not throwing any codes.
Any ideas where to begin?

It starts that once the engine is completely warmed up.

@leecope, does sound like you are experiencing misfire, problem is not giving a code? Did you bleed the air from the cooling system, sometimes takes a couple tries to get all air out, to ensure temp. sensor not acting weird. Could be a few things bad sensors and a couple you have already addressed, perhaps go over all the wire connections to engine components making sure good/clean/tight. Possible issue TPS, MAP, MAF, IAC, O2, failing knock senor, faulty injectors, dirty throttle body, EGR valve, major vacuum leak, failing fuel pump, bad ignition, bad distributor, plugged catalytic converter, etc.etc.. May have to hook up a scanner able to read live data when engine running to see where fault lays. Sorry could not help more.
