charging port is broken

Hi, my iPad Air 2 is not charging, it is completely dead. It is missing a charging port 7th pin (L1p, lane 1 positive). When I plug in the charging cable it doesn't show the "battery" logo, nothing. I have tried the force restart, nothing. Is this pin need for the charging, if I change the charging port it working fine again? Thank you. Atti

more likely then not if you are missing a pin then that is the problem. the charger needs every pin in order to charge your device properly. replacing the port would then if the missing pin is your problem, fix your issue. i hope that this is helpful and you are able to use your tablet again soon

I know it’s been a year since you posted, but I have this same problem with my now retired air 2. (Which the wife now uses)

i found that that if I could position the adapter at the iPad just right, it was updated “connnect” and take a charge. It’s annoying, but it works…

I’m tempted to do a tear down on my own to check it out, see if something’s come loose but with the repairable factor at 2/10 not sure I wanna delve into a complicated repair.

dis you ever get this fixed? Was it the charging port itself? Something else?
