Repair paint peels on body
Hi! I had major paint peels with my a7r2 and a6300. May I know what type of paint will be able to do the cosmetic job?

@fixermaster , Dan, A lot of the digital camera's have a powder coat system paint applied, very hard for match on scratch/touch up. Best thing to do is to take camera with you to hardware/big box store and try to match the camera body color up to paints they have to offer off the paint lids, samples etc.. Would not try to spray unless doing larger area and masked up very well to prevent over spray on delicate parts. Touch up with fine/small brush, paper match end, small twisted paper towel piece, etc., if needs a little texture on the finish small twisted piece of paper towel works OK. Good luck.

I agree with @fixermaster. It's very hard to match up the exact color. If that isn't an issue try car touch up paint at your local auto shop, or go to a home improvement store and ask for paint that is designed to be applied to metal. Remember to clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol so the paint sticks better. Good luck and be very careful!

I would just take the camera into the store. They probably can recommend what is best for the camera's surface.

Hey Dylan, Did you fix the paint and if so how did it turn out and what paint did you end up buying? I've had my a7r ii for 5 months and I'm experiencing the same issues and I'm thinking about touching my camera up also.
