using Ford Sync dial commands not working

When using the Ford Sync to dial out the system works but shows "dial" on the radio screen and stays that way for 10 to 15 sec and times out. I can access the phone directory and hit dial out and the system works well. I tried to dial out using the car voice command syatem in a friends car (Chrysler 300) and had the same issue so I feel it is with the phone. This started happening when the phone upgraded it's IOS system several months back. Even went so far as to swap out phones with Verizon but issue still there with new phone.

Strange.... have you tried re pairing the phone? I have had this problem but every time i have had the problem its because the cars firmware is junk and i need re pair the phone (dodge Journey 2015) also do things like music playback work fine and its just dialing out that's not work or is it all Bluetooth functions?
