@wazich iPod videos must be in MP4, M4V or MOV format (no, AVI will not work). You can always import the video into iTunes and then go to Advanced > Convert Selection for iPod/iPhone.

No. Only MP4, M4V or MOV format.
But you can convert AVI video to MP4, M4V or MOV with Video Converter Ultimate firstly, then copy the movies to your iPod.
It is not so complicated as you might think.

I recommend that you convert it before playing it on I-Pod Nano. Videograbber is a free online tool, while I know a professional desktop called Video Conveter Studio. It's more powerful than the online one.

Unfortunately, it doesn't allow any more download the video. But likely for you, there is another way how you can do it. I am talking about the website, equivalent of old one, where there is function "download Instagram video online". Frankly speaking, It seems like it has begun to work fast and one of the best thing, that has fixed, - it doesn't lag and freeze anymore. It should like you.
