The printer works but the power between the printer and the computer is dead. I am certain it is the USB Port Prongs that are the problem. I have tried several other cords and still get the same outcome: nothing. Can I simply change out this port? Where can I buy this port replacement? Many thanks!

Can you tried an USB-HUB? If not, try to use a USB-HUB to try at first.

Since your USB port appears to be non-functional, I suggest switching over to printing via the network, print server, or WiFi using the HP JetDirect port. You may need to purchase something extra to get this to work, but is easier than resoldering a USB port.
