No screen when making a call

Whenever I make or get a call, the screen goes blank and it doesn't matter if I press any buttons or the screen. Only when the call ends does my screen re-appear. I also tried rebooting/restarting the phone to no avail. Can you please help?

Just received this solution from Alcatel Tech Support, hope this helps others w/ same prb:

Clear cache first – Go to Settings > Storage > Cache data > and then clear.
