Can someone tell me what component this is?

Block Image

I'm pretty sure this component has something to do with the power switch and I think it's a resistor. This is a liquid damaged device that belongs to a friend. He drank a little bit too much the night before, passed out, and ended up wetting the bed with his phone in his pocket. After running it through the ultrasonic cleaner, baking, reflowing the board, reworking components that seemed like needed reworking and replacing the battery, I got everything working EXCEPT for the power button; I tried three different power/volume switch flex circuits.. still nothing; the iPhone would only turn on when I plugged it into a charger. After inspecting the board again through my scope, I noticed that this component, along with the trace that goes up the board to the next component, was corroded. So I cleaned it up, reworked it, ran solder up the trace and.. to my surprise, the power button switch WORKED! But I decided to touch it up a little bit more with my iron and ended up flinging the component to... who knows where, and the power button switch is once again.. no longer functional. Want to know the details of this component to see if I can order it from digikey or.. wherever.

That is a 0 ohm resistor. Just jump it with a wire.

Update (04/04/2016)

Ohh shoot. I think I touched my test probes together. I measured it again and it looks like 300k ohm. I'm so mad at myself. That may be why it still doesn't work.

I took a photo of my board to give you an idea of what it should look like. I think you are soldering to low. The resistor is higher than the other components.

I was able to bridge the pads simply by pulling solder from one pad to the other. But the power button switch still isn't functional. I'm going to try a few other things and will post my results later.

I hope so. I did a rough measurement with my caliper on those pads and placed an order with Mouser. Having 10 replacement resistors shipped. Thanks for testing that again. I'll post an update when I get the new resistor soldered in.
