How do I extend the LCD screen cable?

Hi, my Dell has gotten a bit old and crotchety, and the keyboard has completely broken, so I decided to turn it into a wall mounted tablet, using a tablo pen to create a pseudo-touchscreen. However, I realized quite quickly that the cord connecting the LCD to the motherboard is really really short. Does anyone know what kind of cord this is, and how I can get an extender for it?

Thanks!

Depending on how ambitious you are, and how sure you are of your soldering skills, I would suggest splicing the wires and soldering the cables anew. Otherwise, you could visit an electronics parts store, try to find a matching adapter and just build an extension yourself.

First of all, what is a "tablo-pen" to create a pseudo-touchscreen?

As to answer your question, it is likely the best to add enough lenghts of wire to each braid to meet your demand. I do not know if you can buy extention cable for it, however, if you've got skills just do it! It's the best way to circumvent problems. Mine is getting old but still runs well; got the first battery replaced a couple of years ago, for a staggering £15.00, that is 7200ma instead of 4800 like the original was. And was forced to buy a knew 150bg HDD little over a year ago, after I had accidentaly approached the keyboard with a speaker magnet. It is a lot faster to boot up now but, sadly, failed to back up anything prior to it, hence lost everything that wasn't backed up by fluke.

You probably wont get an extension cable for such internal types. The best way is to use an external VGA cable which cost so less and get a external monitor to attach with it.

If you are that techi then you can extend this cable by yourself using a similar wire loom to extend each cable one by one.
