Any idea what replacing the LCD would cost?

I have the same problem with my Power Shot A620, 7.1 MP, s/n is: 0926105205. . No LCD. Camera works fine through view finder. The CMOS battery measured good. Not sure what PCB view was shown on this post but my schematic looks nothing like that. Could find no fuses. Any idea what replacing the LCD would cost? Probably cheaper to buy a new small camera . Is that the view of the PCB on the LCD or is it from the camera body? I am a retired Electronic Technician. Any idea what a replacement LCD would cost?

Bought the Nikon 3300D with an extra lens from Costco. Then bought an Opteka 10X Macro lens from Amazon for closeups. Still haven't gotten round to using any of it yet.

Pete Chisteckoff post an image of your logic board (front and back) with your answer (actually a question)so we can see what you see. LCD's for this camera are around $25USD at places like ebay :-( etc.

As for buying a camera, this should be strictly based on what your needs are. All of the manufacturers have decent cameras as well as a few lemons. I've used my HP for 10years without any issues and a Nikon Coolpix S60 for a few years without any issues. Again, this is personal preference.

Still confused. Where is the logic board? I only looked at the LCD board with the battery. Doesn't seem to be anything behind that board. If the logic PCB is in the main camera body I need to know where and how to access it so I can check the fuses. I have never opened up the camera body.

I also have seen many post from as far back as 2008 about the LCD failure in A620 and A610. If the fuses are good, I'll probably buy a new small camera. Probably not another Cannon. Maybe Olympus or Nikkon. I did buy the A620 on the recommendation of Consumer Reports, so I won;t necessary trust their review.

Any brand/model you can recommend ?

Thanks for the info. I disassembled the camera and checked the fuses. They were okay.

Guess the LCD is shot. Not going to fix it. Found my receipt and I bought this camera October 2005!!

Time for an upgrade. Not sure if I'll go for another small digital or maybe an SLR. I do know pictures taken indoors are not as clearly focused as I would like with the A620. Probably because I only use the Auto function.

I've looked at the Nikon L840, $190 at Costco. What I like about that one is it uses 4 AA batteries. Nothing proprietary.

The Nikon S7000 is $150 at Costco. Comes with a spare battery.

The Fuji XP80 is $140 at Costco

The Panasonic DMC-ZS40 is $200 at Costco

Also loved online at the OlympusTGM4 or TG-4 . around $300 plus.

Haven't really checked out any SLR cameras yet.
