Why is my device not issuing alerts?

The first thing you should do is check that your Cobra SPX 5300 Radar Detector is not muted. Check that the button on the middle left side that says “Mute” is not pressed, otherwise all the alerts will be shut off. If its not pressed, it might be a positioning problem. The Cobra SPX 5300 Radar Detector must be on the windshield and have an unobstructed view in order for it to receive strong signals.
