blank or dark screen on dell
When I try to turn on my PC I get blank screen or black screen. How can I fix this and which drive I need to install to eradicate this problem.

It could be a problem with static discharge , if so do the following.
1. Disconect the power cord
2. Remove the battery
3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds , then release for 30 sec and then hold down for another 30sec
4. Plug in power ,replace battery and power on laptop.
If this causes no Joy try this.
Remove memory and reinstall one stick at a time, if there are more than 1 dimm of ram, try each stick in each slot one at a time to see if the memory is ok and to determine if one of the memory slots is bad.

Try re-seating your video card and RAM modules and then try powering on the computer. Does the computer make any beep noises when it is turned on?

This just happened to me. Diagnosis was a blown power supply & blown capacitors on the motherboard. Got the power supply. Still looking for the motherboard...

Yes! it's exactly what I was looking for. Problem is I needed it by the end of the week! I found a refurbished one for $72 with a 90 day warranty & paid for 2nd day air shipping, at Discount Electronics in Texas. Should get here by Fri... Thank you for looking for me & posting the link. Have you tried a different monitor? Have you tried your monitor on a different computer etc.? Does your PC sound like it is turning on?
