Display closing contact issue

Hi,

When I totaly close my laptop display, the screens turns off and then immediatly turns on.

If I don't close it completely (10 mm between the keyboad and the screen), it turns of and stays of.

I think there is a problem with the contact in charge of switching on/off the display of the laptop.

How can I repair it ?

Thanks

What you need to look at is your Reed Switch. These people carry the Reed Switch, and provide a manual. This machine is new, so I would first consider a trip to the "genius" bar, before voiding your warranty. This shouldn't be happening on such a new machine.

Hi, Thanks for the answer

I bought this machine in the USA because I live in an island in french Polynesia and it's not easy to mke it repair. I have to ship the laptop and then I won't have it for a long time.

Maybe if it's not to hard, I can fix the pb by myself, I need this laptop for my job.

The reed switch is on the left, just under the speaker. If i put a magnet here, the Mac goes to sleep and stays.

On the screen, the magnet seems to be at the right place.

But If I close completely the screen, the laptop goes sleepind and wake up after 2 ou 3 seconds.

If I don't completely close the screen (0,5 to 1mm between the laptop and the screen), everything is ok.
