Screen is broke and no backlight. Turns on, and can connect pc

Hello all, I got a free note 3, but the screen is badly damaged

How can I go about testing, or which things can I check to see if they are loose from a drop (looks like that is why it doesnt turn the screen on anymore) I dont see any water damage or anything. She said the screen used to turn on until she took it to tmobile. Could something just be loose to cause no backlight or anything? It fires up, makes the tmobile noise, and I can get to it from my pc.

Any help would be appreciated!

I found an assembly on ebay that says it is certified samsung, for $139, so I might just have to go for that. I was hoping that there may be other things that could cause this, without the entire assembly needing replaced, but that just seems to be what is needed.

Dan Termani, first thing I would suggest is that you replace the display assembly. You really can not properly troubleshoot your phone with the screen as damaged as it appears. It may at one time have turned on, but further circuits in the display may subsequently have failed.

Mine is not borken but is a black screen and this was what i found to help. maybe it will work for you?

Thanks for the link, I actually saw this the other day, but unfortunately did not help any. I was hoping just the glass was cracked, but it seems that I will probably have to replace the whole LCD assembly. : (
