I have the blender plugged in, and have made sure that there is no break in the power cord. The power light will not turn on, and the blender does not run when I try any of the buttons.

The first thing I would try to do is press the red reset button on the outlet that the blender is plugged in to. If there is no red button for this outlet, look for other outlets near the outlet that your blender is plugged in to. Often times this reset button will restore the circuitry in your home and will allow you to blend again. Always check the top make sure that the arrows line up before you lock your top down, if the top is not properly aligned the blender will not turn on, when you hit the power button you will see a flashing light because your blender top is not properly locked. hope this helps.

I would take out the screws and open up the blender to get a good look at the internal components.. There will be a circuit board behind the button display where you can check for anything that looks wrong. My new Ninja blender will flash the red power button. ... The Ninja blender needs the LID to be aligned correctly with the HANDLE for the blender to work properly. Look at the lid on your Ninja blender, there is a small white arrow on one corner. read more about Ninja Blender Reviews

I had the same no power problem on my Ninja. If you do not have the power LED turning on, and you know the wall plug has power (plug in another appliance to the same outlet to check), next check is the plug wire looking for breaks. i open my blender and traced the power wires and found a broken red wire at the circuit board. The circuit designers zig-zag the red wire in and out of the circuit board. Either the holes have sharp edges, or the bends are too sharp and snaps the wire. That is where I fould the red wire completely cut in two. My break was a clean slice through, so I suspect it is the sharp edged hole in combination with the blender vibration, slowing sawed through the wire. Easy fix one I found the break. Feed more red wire through and solder together, run more red wire, or skip the weaving of the wire through the circuit board. Whichever repair route you choose, your blender will now power up. Hope this helps.
