2 Why does this Netbook have two wireless cards?
I can't help but notice that there are two guides for replacing the wireless card in an Acer Aspire One ZG5. For the External Card and one for the Internal Card.
I haven't cracked mine open yet (it's currently in a box waiting for us to move house), am I to assume it'll have one or the other or both?

Double the fun! ;-} It looks like two copies were created somehow. Tell us which one is the better and if you can, what elements of the other need to be moved over so they can be merged into a better guide.

From the looks of the two guides there really are two wireless cards, at least on the one they're working on - they pull them both out in the Internal Card guide. Will take mine apart and report back!

I took the plate for where my wireless card should be and the connection isn't available so at first I thought maybe I could use it for a mSSD, but like I said there's no way to install anything so either that part was removed by another person or they made a second design. The strange thing about this is the device manager states that there's two unknown devices which disappears when the internal wireless card decides to stop working, the reason I'm here.

This device was given to me with Windows XP, the battery and the WiFi didn't work and the keyboard was missing keys... The system was corrupt so I installed Windows 7 and the battery still didn't take a charge so while it was running I took the battery out and put it back in and now it's charging, I've fixed a few laptops this way, but the WiFi works when it wants to and when it doesn't it disappears from the device manager with the two unknown devices, probably a bad connection! When I had Windows 7 installed the WiFi flickered showing it was working, but now that I upgraded it to Windows 10 Pro the light stays lit and working at the moment, but I,m going to take it apart and upgrade the memory, but it runs pretty good on 1GB of RAM, clean the connection on the wireless card or replace it and replace the keyboard. This little thing works much better than I ever thought. I hoped this helped.
