Power/sleep button stuck - screen flashing?

My iphone is getting worse. It seems like the home/power/sleep button is stuck. The power off screen pops up randomly. Also, the phone locks randomly but more often. Calls are being hung up on. Sometimes the screen flashes like the button is being hit rapidly. The button rarely works when pressed.

well, i think this not an logic board/connector problem.

there are 2 possible defects - one of them would be lint/dust/dirt/tiny rocks between the sleep button and the case.

the other one is switch related - the actual switch is some kind of metal foil - those parts can get bent, the are sometimes "worn out" or have slight fluid damages.

open the iphone and check the button if there is any dirt or something like that between the button and the case, if it's clean - check the actual switch - it's part of the headphone jack assembly - if it's physically damaged - you have to replace the whole headphone jack assembly.

if it's a fluid damage, open the switch carefully and try to clean it with a soft paintbrush and ispropyl alcohol. if there is something black, clean it with a needle but don't bent it, only scratch the black stuff from the metal.

good luck
