No LCD screen backlight - Connected screen works fine

External screen works. Keyboard backlight OK. Can't I jumper power to the LCD backlight to turn on the LEDs? I don't need to increase, decrease backlight, just turn them on and get it to work. I would need the LCVD connector pinouts. Anyone have those?

Dean Leonard, bad idea. There is more to it than just to place a jumper on the display adapter. You will have to check first if you even get power to it. I suggest to check the backlight fuse and the LED driver, which seems to be a pretty common fault. The other thing you need to be aware of, is that it might be your LCD panel, in which case you just do not have a working light.

Yes absolutely jumper power to the backlight output before checking if there is a short to ground, before checking the BKL_EN line of U7701 to see if the chip is even being told to turn on. I am CONFIDENT that jumping SYSTEM MAIN POWER to OUTPUT is FINE before even checking if it is shorted to ground by a dead component, what could

WRONG????
