screen was cracked took a tutorial on how to change it done so got power but wont recognize my figure touching it only locks an home an mute works

Did you get a genuine replacement touch panel?

Maybe the one you got is faulty.

Make sure that the connectors to the touch panel are correct connected to the board, maybe one is slightly ajar and 1 pin may not be making contact.
