The 7 beep code indicates that there is a processor/motherboard failure. Try releasing the static power and then check to see if the system is working.

Follow the steps below.

Switch off the system; remove the battery, ac adapter and the power cable. Press and hold down the power button for thirty seconds to drain any excess static power.

This is a known problem with this type of computer. This is most likely due to a processor error, and we do not know of an easy way to fix this.

I'll update this if I find a reliable way to fix the problem.

I know this is an old question, but I thought I'd contribute anyway.

This is often caused by a fault/break in the solder on the motherboard, as others have mentioned.

However, since I don't have a heat gun and had nothing really to lose, I followed this video to "reflow the motherboard" and it's working again for me.

Basically, you disassemble the computer all the way down (remove wifi card, CPU, fan, etc.) and then bake the motherboard in the oven for 8 minutes at 385 degrees Fahrenheit (196C).

You put it on a cookie sheet, supported by four balls of tin foil to reduce the direct contact the motherboard has with the hot metal.

Hope that helps :-)

I fixed mine with a heat gun and a laser thermometer.

I removed the motherboard and processor. THen I heated the Northbridge and southbridge and the cpu socket to 350 degrees F for three miutes with the heat gun. let it cool off and re-assembled and it worked! No beeps and it started up fine!

If RAM is not detecting by processor it make beeps for indicating that RAM is not in the computer. It happens usually when carbon creates between RAM and mother board slot. Simply open RAM and clean it properly with paper as well as slot and connect as it was before. Now turn on your computer it will start working.Thanks.
