How do I repair a broken screen?

I cracked the screen on this laptop and now there is a big black blob on the top right corner. The laptop is running fine and I can do everything I used to do before it was cracked. Geek squad said it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop than it would be to fix this one but I don't believe them. If I can do it myself, would be better than wasting this laptop. Where would I get the screen and how would I replace the screen?

Rhea, you are looking at an ~$60 repair for the LCD. Download the service manual for your computer from here. page 62 of that manual will show you how to replace the display assembly. As in where to purchase the screen, this will; be up to you and your geographical location. They are readily available at places like ebay.com, amazon.com and many others.
