Tried to replace battery, removed glass instead of whole screen

So I tried to replace my battery with the iFixit kit, but when I used the suction cup, it removed the front glass panel, not the entire screen like it was supposed to.

Now the glass is loose, and I can't get it to fit completely back in place, now there's a slight gap between the glass and the phone, and when I press down on the phone with moderate pressure the screen distorts.

Is there any way I can reattach the glass completely, either just to get it back to where it was or to where I can actually remove the whole screen like the suction cup was supposed to?

Gekozen oplossing

Christian, same happened to me a couple of days ago. I used the smallest jeweler screwdriver to remove the LCD (rest of the screen), Just use same tape around the frame of the iPhone so it does not get marred to much and use the screwdriver to gently pry the LCD out of the phone. Start at the home button and work your way around it (left and right). You may have to replace the home button as well as the display assembly. Prior to removing it, I also tried to replace the glass/digitizer, but was left with lots of bleeding light as well as ghost touches. Hope this helps, good luck.
