Ok i have a wired x-box 360 controller i use for games such as Skyrim and every time i seem to move or accidentally tap the usb drive connected to the X-box 360 controller it just stops working. its not the controller i have tested the issue with a different controller and same issues occur. the only solution i have found to work (temporally) is to turn off my computer and then back on

do you have those issues with other USB components? It is possible that you have some physical damage to the USB port.
