How can I fix this problem?
my 98 accord will not shift from park to drive unless i push real hard on break pedal. can anyone help with this problem?

linda, it is possible that you are having issues with your gearshift-brake interlock, but since it works when you push hard on the pedal, check to see if brake lights work when applying pedal. It is possible that your brake light switch just needs to be adjusted.

i would check is your hydrolic levels low,spongy brakes,leak under car look for red fluid.
could also be bad servo unit.
