This machine (192 MB RAM) is currently running OS 9.2. Works beautifully. I have updated it with Firmware 4.1.7 update. Verified it as its Boot ROM is now 4.1.7f4. I booted off a cd 10.3 installer but after a few minutes of hard drive activity, I get a kernel panic. Tried it several times, I get the same result. Sometimes, what I get is a message that tells me I need to reboot the computer, blah blah blah, etc. I know this cd works. And 192 MB RAM maybe small, but it should have worked. What gives?
