Sony Cyber-shot DSC W150 Troubleshooting

The Sony Cyber-shot is a pocket sized 8.1 megapixel point and shoot camera , with a Carl Zeiss lens and many features such as smile shutter technology, Super SteadyShot, Intelligent Scene Recognition, and a 2.7" LCD display.

Open the battery compartment to make sure that the battery is installed and facing the correct way. The three metallic squares should be facing the camera and not the latch. Make sure that the latch closes easily with little effort.

Try turning on the camera. If it does not work, continue with this guide.

Make sure that battery is sufficiently charged. Charge the battery with the included charger overnight or for an equivalent amount of time. Insert the battery.

Clean the metallic squares at the bottom of the battery with a dry cloth. This will dislodge any materials stuck in the battery and improve battery life. Insert the battery.

Buy a new battery, charge it and insert it, if it doesn't work, it is a problem with your camera. Try following the directions of your warranty if your still covered by it.

Turn off the camera, remove the batteries from the camera and wait a few minutes. Replace the batteries and turn the camera on.

If the lens will still not extend, replace the batteries and turn the camera on.

If the lens will still not extend, check to see if there is any particles in the lens barrel. Blow air in the lens barrel to remove any sand or grit that may be preventing the lens from extending completely.

Each time you press the Display/LCD on/off button, the display changes. Press the Display on/off button until the display cycles through to a powered screen.

LCD display may be broken.

Clean inside of lens with microfiber cloth, blower or lens cleaning fluid.
