Garmin StreetPilot c320 Troubleshooting
The device will not turn on
Plug the device into a power source
Check to see if the problem is not just a dead battery by plugging your charger into a power outlet. If this does not solve your problem, read on.
Check power source
If there is still no power, try plugging your device into different power sources to confirm that it is a problem with the c320. If this does not work, continue reading.
Check power switch
If you are still having trouble getting power or the power switch feels a little stiff there could be a problem with the mechanism and you might need to replace the switch completely.
If your device has still failed to turn on try keeping it plugged in for at least thirty minutes to see if the problem is battery related. If the device never turns on it could be a faulty battery that needs repair. See the Battery Installation Guide for further instructions.
The device will not respond
Restart your device
If the screen is frozen try restarting your device. If this does not work, continue reading.
Check your display
If your device is on, or dimmed, and not responding to your touch there could be a problem with the display. For help, see the Display Installation Guide.
Battery not holding charge
If your device is unable to turn on while unplugged from a power source, there could be a problem with your battery. See the Battery Installation Guide for help solving this problem.
Device doesn't emit sound
Check the volume level
With the device turned on and plugged in, make sure that the volume is all the way up. If this does not solve your problem, continue reading.
Check the speakers
If the volume is all the way up and no audio is coming out of the speakers you may have a problem with the speakers or wiring. Check the Speaker Repair guide if this is the case.
SD Memory Card not being read
Restart the device
With the memory card in the slot, restart your device and wait until the device acquires satellites. Once this is done, try opening up the maps again.
Check SD card
If the maps still do not load then try taking the SD card out and using an SD card reader and computer to analyze the contents of the card. If you are able to view the files from your computer, the problem must be related to your device's SD card reading hardware. To solve this problem see the SD Card Reader Repair guide.
