Device Will Not Turn On
Pressing the power button does not initiate the power-on sequence.
Battery drained
Relax - the computer will not explode! If you suspect that your laptop’s battery is dead, try connecting the charging cord, waiting a few minutes, and trying again. If the problem persists, you may have a faulty power cord. In this case, follow the next steps.
Faulty power cord
If you have tried to charge the battery and the laptop still will not initiate, grab a multimeter and try checking the voltage on the DC power supply. If the voltage measures 19.5V, you’re good to go. If you do not, it is time to grab a replacement.
Faulty battery
The problem could lie in a battery that is no longer good. Visit the Battery Replacement Guide to learn how to replace your battery.
Device will not connect to the internet
Attempting to connect to the internet fails.
Restart needed
Click the START menu, and then click Restart. Patiently wait until the entire process completes, then attempt the network connection another time following the same instructions.
Network reset needed
From the Start Menu, navigate to Control Panel > WiFi settings before selecting the network in question, then click FORGET NETWORK. Then simply try to connect.
Router Stalled
Do you know where your WiFi router is located within your home? If you are on a public network, speak to the administrator and ask him/her to restart the network and inform you when this is complete. If you know where the router is, disconnect your wireless router from the wall power, wait 30 seconds, and replug the power into the wall.
Device will Not Print
The printer does not respond to a print request.
Restart of printer needed
Although this guide covers the basics of troubleshooting your Dell Wyse Xn0m laptop computer, sometimes the printer can be the challenge. Walk over to the printer, shut it down, and power it on again. Then try to print again.
Print queue is clogged
In the system tray (lower right corner of the screen on the same bar as the Start Menu), right-click on the printer icon and click “Print Queue.” Then remove all of the documents currently pending, by right-clicking and selecting “Cancel Document.” Then try it again!
