Cuisinart DLC-8F Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting page will help you diagnose problems with the Cuisinart DLC-8F
Turns Itself Off
The device turns off unexpectedly mid-use.
Power Cable Damaged
The power cable is frayed or torn, or disconnected internally. If this is the case, you may need to replace the cable.
Not Securely Plugged In
The connection between the plug and the electrical outlet is loose. Either plug in tighter or switch outlets.
The device will not start after being plugged in.
Motor Safety Button Does Not Press Down
Remove the work bowl and all parts. Plug in and turn it on. Using a pen, press the dark grey or black button on the top of the base. If it spins you will need to get a replacement part.
If the motor doesn’t spin or make any noise after pressing down the button, then it is a motor malfunction and the device must be sent to Cuisinart for repair.
Doesn’t Spin Fast Enough
When you turn it on it tries to spin but doesn’t quite spin fast enough.
Bowl Too Full
Remove some food from the bowl to allow the blades to spin at the proper speed. Pulse several times and then run continuously.
Power Cable Damaged
The power cable is damaged and cannot provide enough current to motor and needs to be replaced. Follow this repair guide.
Ensure that all of the brushes in the motor are clean and free of debris. You should also check the solder connections leading to the motor.
When you hold down the pulse button, the rotor does not spin.
If the problem is the switch, check that all of the solder connections from the switch are in place and connected. If all of the connections are sound, then the problem is within the switch and it will need to be replaced.
Power Supply Malfunction
If the on/off switch does not work, the there is a problem in either the motor or the power supply. Check that the blender is plugged into the wall outlet and that all of the prongs are in working order. Check that the cord is not frayed or coming apart causing it to short out. Check all of the solder connections from the power supply to the motor.
