Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus Troubleshooting
Speaker Will Not Turn On
The speaker will not turn on when the power button is pressed.
Battery Is Not Charged
Ensure that the battery of your speaker is charged. To check your battery, locate the power light under the power button on the top of the speaker. If the light is red that means you will need to plug your speaker up to the charger.
Speaker is in Battery Protection Mode
The speaker will enter power protection mode if it is not used for 24 hours and not plugged up to charge. Plug the speaker up to the charger to get out of battery protection mode.
The Speaker Is Not Updated
Your speaker may require a product update. To update the speaker, visit bose.com to look for speaker updates and follow the instructions given on the website. You may also want to download the Bose Connect app to update your speaker with your mobile device.
Damaged USB Charger
Your speaker may not power on if it was charged with a damaged USB charger. If the speaker does not charge when connected to the USB charger, try plugging your USB cord into another device to see if the charger is damaged. If the USB cord will not charge other products it may be damaged. Consider replacing the USB charger.
Faulty Battery
If your battery will not charge when plugged into a power outlet, your battery may be faulty. Consider replacing the battery.
Speaker Will Not Charge
The speaker does not charge when hooked to the charger.
Charging Cord
Clean off plug-in areas of the charging cord. If the cord still does not work, replace it with a new charging cord.
Charging Port
If your charging cord is not broken and the port is clear, the port may need to be replaced.
AUX Connection Fails
The AUX function will not connect to your phone.
Damaged AUX Cord
If the AUX function of your speaker will not connect, your AUX cord may be damaged. Consider replacing the AUX cord.
Damaged AUX Port
If the AUX function of your speaker will not connect with a working cord, your AUX port may be damaged. Consider replacing the AUX port.
Bluetooth Connection Fails
The bluetooth speaker will not stay connected to your phone.
Failed Pairing
Make sure your speaker is successfully paired with your phone. Open the Settings app on your phone, select the Bluetooth option and look for the speaker name in the list of Bluetooth devices. If you do not see the speaker’s name, then it is not paired with your phone. Reset the speaker and then try to pair the devices.
Out of Range
The Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus has a bluetooth connectivity range of 33 feet (10 meters). If your speaker and your phone are farther than 33 feet apart, bring them closer together. The bluetooth connection can also be interrupted by walls or other large obstacles. Try to keep as few large obstacles between your phone and the speaker as possible.
Faulty Bluetooth Module
When a bluetooth device fails to connect it might mean that the bluetooth module itself is faulty. This is a component within the body of the speaker and must be replaced in order to function correctly..
Buttons are Unresponsive
The speaker’s buttons do not respond when pressed.
There is a Minor Malfunction with the Product
Like all electronic products, this product may need to be reset to correct minor issues. To reset your product without resetting product settings follow these steps. If connected, disconnect the charging cable. Power on your speaker using battery power. Press and hold the Multi-function button for ten seconds: the speaker lights will glow to show it is resetting.
Reset to Factory Settings
This resets the products to factory settings and erases all of the device settings. To reset the speaker to factory settings, follow these steps: Power on your product. Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the Bluetooth light blinks blue and a voice prompt instructs you to select a language.
Try Connecting to a Different Audio Device
If available, connect another audio device using the same cables and connections to determine if the issue is related to the device or its settings.
The Product is Not Updated
Updating the product’s software may resolve issues within the system. To update your product using a computer, go to btu.bose.com to open the Bose updater. Follow the updater instructions to update your product. To update the device using the Bose Connect app, tap the update icon to download the update. A white circular progress bar shows the update status. Once downloaded, tap update. The device updates typically take a couple of minutes. Once complete, a check mark should appear.
The Product is Not Charged
The buttons may become unresponsive if the battery is low in power. Charge the product to a full charge and then try pressing the buttons again.
The Button Board is Damaged
If the solutions above do not work the button board may need to be repaired or replaced. To repair or replace button boards follow the steps provided in this link.
