Antwoord op "How do I screenshot a Wii?"Someone wrote a nice article on how to do it here: http://www.bukisa.com/articles/92229_how-to-take-xbox360-screenshots-or-playstation-wii They even use a Mac, so the instructions will work for you. However, one thing to note is that the Wii doesn't have HDMI, but it does have composite (and component video). I definitely also recommend the Elgato eyeTV products. They also state how well their products will work with consoles in their support pages: EyeTV 250 Plus: http://support.elgato.com/index.php?lang... EyeTV Hybrid USA 09: http://support.elgato.com/index.php?lang... Comparison between the two: http://support.elgato.com/index.php?lang...
Antwoord op "How do I manually open the DVD drive as I have a DVD stuck in it"Just in case, before you go opening up your computer, if you haven't already, you may want to quickly try the method Apple outlines in this article: PowerPC-based Macintosh: How to eject a disk when other options don't work Yep, the one thing about PowerPC Macs that Intel Mac owners wish they had: Open Firmware. This method worked for me when a mini CD got into the slot-loading drive of my iMac G5 (please don't ask how that happened...).
Antwoord op "installing os x"Chris Green is correct. I answered a similar question here: will not recognize newly formatted hd Basically, follow the instructions in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1600 making sure to repartition the disk after reformatting (otherwise the problem won't be solved). But instead of choosing GUID Partition Scheme as the article instructs, choose Apple Partition Scheme. (The GUID Partition Scheme is necessary for Intel-based Macs, but PowerPC-based Macs will only install Mac OS X on disks with the Apple Partition Scheme).
Antwoord op "i have a small black dot in the top enter of my desplay. how can i get"@rab777hp That method probably won't work in this case. It seems as if alex price has a dead pixel (black), not a stuck pixel (red, green, blue, or a combination of these). Check here for more info on that: http://lifehacker.com/225395/fix-your-lcds-stuck-pixels alex price, you might try this instead: http://lifehacker.com/software/lcds/fix-your-lcds-dead-pixels-152062.php
Antwoord op "will not recognize newly formatted hd"You say you reformatted it with and then restored from your (Intel) MacBook Pro to use in your (PowerPC) PowerBook G4. Intel-based Macs can only install and use Mac OS X on a disk with the GUID Partition Scheme, while PowerPC-based Macs can only install and use Mac OS X on a disk with the Apple Partition Scheme. Your MacBook Pro would have been using the GUID Partition Scheme which PowerPC Macs can't boot Mac OS X from. Follow the instructions in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1600 to reformat the drive you will be using in your PowerBook once again, making sure to repartition the disk after reformatting (otherwise, the problem won't be solved). Of course, instead of choosing GUID Partition Scheme as the article instructs, choose Apple Partition Scheme (since this article was written for the opposite situation, putting Mac OS X on an HDD in an Intel-based Mac partitioned with the Apple Partition Scheme, which wouldn't work in Intel-based Macs). Once finished with this, if you still want to use...
Antwoord op "Any advice on installing Jaguar on iBook G3 Clamshell?"If you've got OS 9 running fine on them and you just want to be able to access the internet, try Classilla. Also, your iBook clamshell supports not only up to Mac OS X v10.2 'Jaguar', but to Mac OS X v10.3 'Panther' which I highly recommend over Jaguar. Not only is it faster on the same hardware than v10.2, it also has better browser support: (1) Camino (up to Camino 1.6.10) (2) iCab (up to iCab 4.7 (most recent version)) (3) Firefox (up to Firefox 126.96.36.199 (somewhat outdated)) (4) Safari (up to Safari 1.3.2 (extremely outdated)) Some other advantages of Panther over Jaguar that might prove useful for your kids include: (1) ZIP support and 'Secure Empty Trash' built into Finder (2) Fast User Switching (allows a user to remain logged in while another user logs in) (3) Exposé (enables easy window switching) (4) TextEdit now compatible with Microsoft Word (.doc) documents (5) Increased PDF rendering speed in Preview (6) Font Book (a font manager) To run Mac OS X v10.3, you need: (1) a G3, G4, or G5 processor ...
Antwoord op "Can these burn CDs?"Does it light up at all when you first plug it into your Clamshell (to see if it's receiving power)? I actually use a Sandisk Cruzer Micro 8 GB (SDCZ6-8192-C11). On my Clamshell, it seemed to go in, but I eventually realized that it wasn't going in all the way since the Cruzer Micro wasn't showing any signs of even doing anything at all.
Antwoord op "Can these burn CDs?"Another thing to note is that similarly to the USB ports of the iMac G3, the iBook clamshell will not be able to fit any USB Flash Drives because they are too wide and the case design of both of these prevents anything that is wider than the port from fitting. I have an iBook clamshell (as well as an iMac G3) myself, and the way that I've gotten around it is by using an extremely short USB Extension Cable, plugging one end into the Mac and the other into the flash drive. This is actually the one that I ended up getting: http://www.shaggymac.com/index.php?main_... As for other Macs and Mac hardware with this problem, check this Apple Support article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA22788?view... Also, if you'd rather just be able to burn CDs, then you can upgrade your iBook's optical drive here: http://www.wegenermedia.com/ibookcdrwhom... (although that kind of ruins the look).
