Do not simply change your PCB, what about the ROM? This action will not help you. Is the drive spinning, then shutting down? Or is it repeatedly clicking? Please give a better diagnosis if you can. BTW if the HDD is not detected by the system it will be fault not fixable DIY sorry, take it to a local DR pro for a correct analysis and recovery.
Please do not use any software to try and recover your data, you will seriously compound the recovery. The HDD will have suffered from a physical issue and in require clean room work, the HSA will have come into direct contact with the disk surface and probably require exchanging, given that this a WD hard drive you will not the micro-jogs or other details, not least have a clean room / bench and skills to change the heads, take it to a pro DR company.
What exactly was the failure? dead, not spinning, clicking, not detected by BIOS or OS? If the HDD has any of the above issues, you have a fault which you will not be able to fix, it will not be a DIY job I am afraid. Please do not change the PCB, this will not work, also do not open the hard drive. Please reply.
